Description
Acetone that is also known as either propanone, 2-propanone, dimethyl ketone, propan-2-one. Acetone compound is available in colorless liquid and it is highly volatile & flammable. This chemical is the simplest example of the ketones. Acetone is an important solvent and it is miscible with water, ethanol, ether, etc. This is widely used in various household applications, like as an active ingredient in nail polish remover. The other uses of acetone are in making plastic, drugs, fibers, and other chemicals. This Acetone is the organic compound with the formula (CH3)2CO. This colorless, mobile, flammable liquid is the simplest example of the ketones. Owing to the fact that acetone is miscible with water it serves as an important solvent in its own right, typically as the solvent of choice for cleaning purposes in the laboratory.
